The software has been designed as general application for security hybrid platforms functioning concurrently with wireless and wired Internet webcams, TV-cards, capture boards, power-line, and USB cameras. It has web interface with the same appearance and controls on the local and apart workstations. Users view MPEG-4 coded video and have full management of the program through network that security server can be operated with no screen, keyboard, and mouse attached. Program`s modular structure significantly boosts reliability because all modules act as autonomous programs. If one module stops working, other units go on working. For instance if the `record` unit stops working, `watchdog` starts over it instantly that users don`t notice anything because they are watching video through a `playback` component. The program makes `cyclic` recording that the `disk full` situation never happens. The recording can be non-stop or it can be initiated by motion, human face detection, or by schedule. The program has pre-alarm and post-alarm recording. Playing back recorded video is pretty easy and performs on the surveillance station as well as on apart pc through Web interface. The software performs simultaneous video playback for event analysis from many webcams at the same time. Also recorded data can be searched by date, time or by face detected. All recorded information can be encrypted and password protected.
