FolderMill - is Document Conversion Server that automatically converts Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations to PDF, JPEG, TIFF, or other image formats. FolderMill provides an easy way of automating routine document processing tasks and establishing document flow in an enterprise environment.
The conversion process is very simple from the end-user perspective. The only thing required is to copy an original document into the input folder. The conversion process starts automatically, and a moment later the converted file will appear in the output folder.
There is no additional software required on workstations. All processing is performed automatically server-side.
Conversion options as well as input and output folders may be specified as conversion rules on the server. A control panel allows an administrator to create or edit rules.

The basic idea behind configuration is to create conversion rules. A rule defines the input folder, input document conversion settings as well as the output folder where converted documents will be placed. Individual rules are normally created for different work groups or to address different tasks. A new user connects to the system simply by creating shortcuts to the input and the output folders.
The conversion process is as follows:
- a user would copy a document to a pre-defined input folder
- the system would detect the file and immediately proceed to the conversion
- the converted document would be placed in the output folder
