Portia de Rossi was born Amanda Lee Rogers in Melbourne, Victoria, January 31, 1973. De Rossi started modelling at a young age for print and TV commercials. She made her film debut in 1994 in the Australian film Sirens. International stardom came after she took a role in Scream 2 and later in Ally McBeal from 1998 to 2002. De Rossi continued with the successful TV series Arrested Development from 2003 2006 and then appeared in Nip/Tuck`s 5th season.
